Terminal Certifications

Certifications

As of June 2016 Acquiris controls the certification process for the payment terminals adhering to the C-TAP specifications v10.1. As of July 2023 the certification process for the payment terminals will need to comply with the C-TAP specification v11.0. The Terminal Certification Procedure provides an increasing level of confidence to Terminal Vendors and Acquirers/Acquirers Processors that the certified terminal adheres to the Multi Card Brand / Multi Acquirer principles of the SEPA-wide C-TAP specifications while providing an
uniform and consistent cardholder and merchant experience. An overview of this certification procedure can be found on the corresponding page.

Prior to June 2016 terminal certification services were provided as of 2012 by Acquiris on the C-TAP v10.0 and earlier than that by the C-TAP Authority for the Dutch payment terminals implementing the C-TAP 3.1 (and previous version) protocol and by EPCI for the Belgium payment terminals implementing the C-TAP 3.0 (and previous version) protocol.
